PAYMENT OF INTEREST ON GRATUITY TO AFFECTED RETIREES !

Dear Comrades,

Success delayed, but our (ARISE) efforts never fail.  The comrades who were denied Gratuity due to the pending enquiries by our Bank or by Outside Agencies, got the amount when our president & General Secretary K.S.Rengarajan/SBC Karunakaran team went through the procedure of representing to Assistant Labour Commissioner.  But the same comrades were again denied the benefit of interest lost due to delayed payment.  Again the representation to ALC ensured the same, but with a catch that the interest was calculated only from Date of Punishment.  This was again represented to ALC quoting various judgements including the judgement in Supreme Court.  The relentless efforts by our President secured the order from ALC to Bank.  The comrades were credited @10% interest from the date it was due.  We thank our Bank also for expediting the credit without delay after receiving the orders.  We pray the success ensured in this New Year will continue for the rest of our genuine demands with IBA/GOVT.
